Courtesy Policies
Please share all policies with anyone attending class.
Participation - In this class, it is essential for the adults to participate! The children learn their attitudes and motivations from you, and you can help them become enthusiastic music-makers just by enjoying the class and participating fully. You will be an excellent model regardless of your musical ability —a sense of fun is all that is required. For the children’s benefit, our goal is to make class time a music-immersion experience.
Footwear - Please take your family’s shoes off outside of the classroom door to help protect little fingers/toes and keep our learning space clean. Have fun showing off your socks!
Food - You’re welcome to nurse or bottle-feed your child in class.
We ask that you do not bring any other food or drink into class other than water.
Cell Phones/Photos/Videos - Please put cell phones on vibrate. Our classes are participatory and educational experiences so we ask our families to refrain from texting and taking photos or videos during class time. We welcome the taking of pictures before or after class, but please check with your classmates before posting pictures to social media. Share pix and videos with Shannon!-)
Refunds/Exchanges - We are unable to refund tuition fees after the start of classes. Families are responsible for class attendance. An administrative fee of $25 will be deducted upon cancellations occurring prior to the start of the semester. Requests for class changes must be initiated within the first three weeks of the semester. Depending on class availability, changes are made at the discretion of the center director and teachers involved. Changes are not made after the third week of the semester.
Illness - Please keep your child home if there is a chance that you or they are sick. Older children who are not in school due to illness should not come to class with you. We do have children with compromised immune systems, some very young babies, and a willingness to work with you on additional make-up needs. PLEASE err on the side of caution and be in touch.
Make-ups - Each semester, Music Together with Shannon provides 1 or 2 courtesy make-ups for families with any absences. Please note that makeups can not be carried over to another semester, so please plan your makeup as soon as possible after your missed class and by the last class date. Spots are offered on a first come first serve basis. Please see your welcome email with info on how to arrange a make-up via www.musictogetherwithshannon.com.
Emergency Cancellations - In the event of last minute class cancellations, you will receive a cancellation text and/or an e-blast, so please make sure we have your current phone number and email address on file.
**Also, please make sure that you have saved my email ([email protected]), my website notification email ([email protected]) and Music Together® Worldwide email ([email protected]) addresses in your contacts so that communications do not go to spam. A hint is to click on the small arrow next to the subject line of an open email to label it “important”/yellow.**
And keep grooving! We thank you!
